What’s the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is the satisfaction I get from developing people that are passionate about Phones 4u and thrive to be successful in climbing the career ladder within the business. I love helping people to gain the confidence to unlock their true potential and nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing someone I’ve given guidance or coached progress.
Explain what your job role entails?
As a Management Development Consultant I am involved in various learning & development interventions including the Management Development Programme which is designed for succession planning of our future retail managers, ‘Momentum Workshops’ – a series of in-house sessions for existing retail managers, and the Retail Management Induction for new managers joining the business. I am part of a team that designs, delivers and evaluates these interventions.
Talk me through your typical day
I don’t really have a typical day – this is one of the things I love about my job. I travel up and down the country to deliver the Management Development Programme on behalf of the business and get to meet people from all walks of life on a daily basis. Some days you can find me delivering at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham, our industry leading training facility, and other days I spend time coaching, ensuring our content is up to date with business changes and visiting our stores to deliver training.
