This isn't another employee testimonial delivered through rose tinted glasses. Life
at Phones 4u is tough. The business expects a lot, but you'll be well rewarded in
return if you work hard and deliver the goods.
My career at Phones 4u started working part time in store when I was at uni (you
won't find a job that pays a better wage btw all you students out there). As my
course came to an end and I was wondering what on earth to do with my life then
I noticed a 'marketing executive' vacancy advertised on the internal job site. A
few weeks and two interviews later and I was on the train to Stoke-on-Trent the
day after my last exam, seduced by the glamour of being an 'executive'. The rest
as they say, is history. Over the past 6 years I've worked hard and taken opportunities
to progress as they have arisen. I'm now Head of Brand Comms, overseeing our media
and creative strategies, controlling a budget in excess of £9m per year and reporting
directly to the Marketing Director.
Phones 4u is not the right company for everyone, but if you are willing to give
it your all, you might just get what you're looking for. Slackers and shrinking
violets need not apply.
